Timing
Data may be incomplete or delayed; trades must be disclosed within 45 days under the STOCK Act. A trade shown here was disclosed after the fact; the reporting lag next to each filing date is the gap between the transaction date and the filing date, both taken from the official document.

- unitedstates/congress-legislators — committee rosters — Current-Congress committees, subcommittees and membership (committees-current.json, committee-membership-current.json), joined to members by Bioguide id. Committee titles and leadership seats come from the same files; the sectors we map to a committee's jurisdiction are our own editorial reading, not part of this source.
- SEC company tickers — Ticker-to-issuer universe used for matching asset descriptions to securities.
- SEC EDGAR – Form 4 (statement of changes in beneficial ownership) — Corporate insider transactions, exactly as filed; each row links to its EDGAR filing folder and XML.
- Market data (yfinance, optionally Polygon) — Daily prices, sector and industry used only for enrichment and estimates.
What an estimate is
Members of Congress disclose each transaction as a dollar range (for example $15,001 – $50,000), an asset description, a date and a transaction type. They do not disclose share counts, prices paid, or account balances.
Anything labelled Estimated on this site is derived from those ranges: shares are the range midpoint divided by the closing price on the trade date; portfolio value is those shares at today's prices; returns are compared to an S&P 500 proxy receiving identical cash flows. Cash, dividends, options, bonds and funds without a ticker are not modelled. Estimates can differ materially from real holdings.
Official values (dates, types, ranges, asset text) are never altered. Every row links to the official document so the reader can check the source directly.
Committee pages show an overlap between a member's committee seat and a sector they traded. The roster is official; the committee-to-sector mapping is our editorial judgement, and the membership data covers the current Congress only, so an overlap is shown only for trades on or after January 3, 2025. An overlap of duty and holding is not an allegation of insider trading or of any other violation.
Insider figures (shares, prices, values and post-transaction holdings from SEC Form 4) are shown as filed and carry a Filed label; congressional figures are disclosed ranges and the numbers derived from them are estimates. Unusual-activity scores and whale scores are model outputs on top of both.
